February this year saw the formation of four new congregations within the NAC churches. Praise God that the planning for this major change resulted in the four congregations becoming a reality. All of our data such as attendance and giving have shown that we are responding to targets set in planning and the budget. Property improvement to support our many ministries has also been a feature. Major refurbishments in the kitchen and storage facilities in the back hall are complete. The exception is the dividing wall between the meeting area and back hall which is on hold pending further research into engineering requirements around safety and usability and subsequent costing. We will keep you posted. The back yard also plays a significant role in many ministries. We will look at the need for the sheds that are scattered around our boundary. While they provide storage they take up ground and are not all that attractive! Let a Parish Councillor or Warden know if you require continued use of a much-loved shed! If you have suggestions or concerns about any property or finance matters you can email any of us or speak to one of us in our congregations:
9am: Hedley Mooney, Jeremy vant Spyker or Andrew Hicks
9.30am WHAC: Doug Shoemark or Mark Whelan
5pm: Steve Dunlop
6.45: Steve Dunlop
Our finances are currently in line with the Budget approved at the Annual General Meeting. There has been consistent giving with an increase over last year in line with inflation. While this is what we budgeted for, and better than 2007 when there was no growth, it will still mean our funds will be decreased during the year as we hold our commitment to give 5% to external mission. Not bad, but we can do better, as always!
