Our situation has deteriorated over the past two months, with giving down about $6,000 per month from previous months. On its own, it is not a major issue, but there are three areas where we have gaps in income.
1. The funding to support the wonderfully justified engagement of Tania has continued to decline during the year and we’re forecasting that only $27,500 of the pledged $35,000 will be received. What does this mean for our pledging for 2010?
2. We hope you have noticed that the new wall is in place and working a treat; making changes to the room much quicker and safer. When we asked for help to cover the cost of the wall we got $5,500 against the gap in funding of $9,000 - down $3,500.
3. It has been necessary to replace the speakers in the back hall, to provide a projector for use in the back hall and replace a failing projector in the church. These are essential improvements and we hope that they gives us a good facility that helps people sitting in the back hall feel more connected to what’s going on in the church. Total cost $8,000.
We are now looking at a shortfall for 2009 of $23,000 against the budgeted $6,310. Each of these “investments” has added value to how we are the church at Northmead. 2010 will have its own challenges and it would be great to go into the new year without needing to draw down on our small reserves.
So would you please prayerfully consider making a contribution to reduce this shortfall?
The Wardens (Steve, Headley and Denise)
